I live in a wonderful city!

So here's a quick update between classes. I've been keeping really busy with school and with my Host position and I've also come to a severe loss of sleep which I will say contributed to the fact that I am sick. Other than that I'm doing really well and have been going on with life like normal (as normal as life can get when you're me :P). Anyways, I've posted a few new songs so that's fun and I'm currently working on a request from a girl with a friend in the army and a song to sing in church with Drew. Both of which have been put on hold due to the fact that I don't have a voice.
........
Oh! so the other day (this other day being Saturday) I went to the Utah vs. Weber game and had a blast! GO UTES! After the game I switched outfits really fast and headed to a Bid party at the Wells Fargo Building. It was so cool! The view from the 23rd floor where we were was amazing! I got to meet a lot of new people and had a great time. Which leads me to my new goal for living in SLC; because there are so many types of people here why not take the time to see into the lives of those around you? I bought a little 'journal' to officially start the 'Write in my Journal' project. So pretty much if I can get someone to talk to me for a bit I'll ask them to write in my journal and take a picture of them to put with their writings. I'm not going to ask them to write anything just to write what ever they want. I think it'll be interesting and an awesome way to hear the stories behind the people around me.

I came up with the idea when I saw a guy I nicknamed 'crazy legs' with a friend last year. He seems to have a hip problem but walks all over campus and I see him all the time. When I saw him for the first time in over a month I was talking to that same friend and was all; 'I wonder what his story is' so this write in my journal idea is a way for me to find out his story and his name.

An update from my hammock!

I know, I know. It's been way too long but my life has been pretty busy and pretty crazy, the last week and a half hasn't been any less hectic but I decided to take a minute and tell ya what's been going on.
I moved back to Salt Lake City and it's been a lot of fun; training days are long and kinda hard but the people I work with are a lot of fun and getting to know them helps make the days go faster and seem better. I live in the Residence Halls again but I have a double to myself for at least a few more days at which point I'll get a sweet, little, freshman roommate until they find her a permanent room (which could take till late September, not exciting but the odds say they'll have a room for her in two weeks so I'll just deal with it). My suit mate Alishia is one of the coolest people ever! She's really shy and so it was hard at first but she does little things that totally make my day; she'll draw things on the mirror that always put a smile on my face, currently I have a fishbowl with a goldfish named Skipp that she redraws pretty much every day to make him bigger. Going back a little bit; I work as a Student Host for the University of Utah meaning every two weeks or so I take high school students interested in the U around campus and show them what a day might be like if they lived here they also stay the night and get to experience things first hand that you normally wouldn't when looking into a school. With that I get a free double room on campus which is why my coming roommate will be relocating. All of the Student Host's are a lot of fun and we all along really well setting this year off to an awesome start.

As the title says I'm sending this from my hammock! I finally got my bed lofted and well it's super tall so I hung my hammock under it when I got back from swimming with the Student Leaders, sat down with my music and my computer and decided to let you all in on my life's events. I'll get some pictures up with time.

Good night to you and fantastic dreams!

So.... My thumb.... About that....

K, here's the story. I was standing in the window of the Peay's house removing the wallpaper above it. I should have grabbed a stool or something because I wasn't ....'secure' where I was; anyways I didn't and I had a feeling I should have gotten down and worked on a lower section but me being stubborn I decided to finish this 'patch' first and then move to a lower one. I go to step down and step too far back so I lose my balance. I would've simply set my other foot down and been fine but there was a large printer/small copier behind me so I tried to step around that. I did like a 180 and my momentum threw me forward. In front of me was a roller chair and I thought that would be a great thing to grab onto ..... Wrong Again! haha! my hand holding the razor blade grabbed the armrest and my other hand went strait for the seat catching the blade on the way down. Everyone including me was laughing about the fall and it only felt like I had scratched my hand. They asked if I was ok and I said 'yeah'....'I cut my thumb' I looked down and saw just how bad I'd cut my thumb and went to the kitchen to wash it off. Kelly was looking over my shoulder and handing me a paper towel to help stop the bleeding and when I turned the water off and turned my hand over she took in a deep breath and called out 'Ben...! She's gonna need stitches!'

LONGBOARDING!!!!!

So I just spent the last hour/two hours longboarding down on campus and I freak'n LOVE IT! I did a stadium since it was my first run and well I rocked it! I didn't fall once and I can totally carve it up! I started with as big of curves as I wanted and then narrowed it down so that I only had the width of a parking stall which also made me go tons faster. I dropped into the tunnel too and I was scared at first cuz it's really steep on the one side and you can't see the other side so you just have to go and hope no one is there on the other side. The first time I thought I was going to die but I didn't :D the board I was on shakes pretty bad when you get going and it makes it harder to keep your balance but I still did ok. The second time through the tunnel I got down the one side and was going up the other when three guys came flying down the sidewalk and it scared me so bad! I thought I was going to hit one of them and die or cause us both a lot of pain but all is well and I have successfully survived my first stadium run. . . . . Now for a HYPR run (pronounced hyper; it's the nickname students gave the main sidewalk that runs from the dorms down campus it's also called the hypr highway because it's one of the biggest sidewalks on campus. A truck or utility van can easily drive the hypr with plenty of room on either side. )

My Youtube Videos!

So as you all know I have a few videos on youtube and I'm proud to announce that one of my videos has reached 1,000 views! It' s been up for almost two months and it's already reached that number I'm super excited to see where it goes from there. Also exciting about my other videos is that my two newest videos have been getting about one hundred views a week! Compared to some of my videos this is a really good rate and I'm hoping to get a few more out within the next two weeks or so.

The next songs on my list are:
1-2-3-4 by Fiest
Reasons Why by Alison Kraus
It's Time by Anna Free
and
possibly some other songs by Taylor Swift

Micah's not excited about the song by Fiest but oh well I don't care. I like the song and am going to do it no matter what he says. Either way it'll be a while before a song is posted because my voice isn't quite what it used to be but it's getting there :D. I can't wait for my voice to be back to normal! I can sing now and it's reasonable but I can only sing a song or two before my voice starts to get really raspy and sounds bad lol!

Oh oh oh! So in the works to be recorded are a few songs..... one is called Volcano by Damien Rice and Drew wants to record it with us both on vocals him on guitar and me on violin.... I'm not sure how the violin will go but I can try and see if I can pull it off. The original song is guitar and cello but Drew says it can be done with violin so we'll see. The other songs are both by Drew so he's got to teach me the songs and then we can record them so I'm kinda excited about that.

School's going pretty good and I'm excited for Spring Break although I have nothing cool planned it will be a nice vacation from the books.

Loves to all,
Keyliegh Ann

P.S. I'm gonna try and video record the songs that I record with Drew so that I can post those on youtube as well.

Steroids, Mountain Air and Gatorade

So lets see .... the other day I woke up and felt just fine. Ok well that's a lie. I felt horrible; I had two papers due that morning and it was going to be a stressful day. I finally finished the papers and the printing and was back in my room exhausted. I climbed up on my bed and fell asleep for almost three hours. When I woke up I had a sore throat and a little bit of a cough. No big deal tho; I'd get some cough drops from Liz till I could run to the store and all would be fine. haha! wrong again. That night I took some Nyquil and went to bed. "slept like HELL!" (peanut, JeffDunham.com super funny character) and woke up choking. I decided to go to the clinic and see what I had and if I could get some drugs for it. They didn't have any openings until Friday so I made an appointment and said I'd come back. Later that day I was getting leaps and bounds worse so my parents came up and took me to the Emergency Room. I got in there and they did a whole bunch of tests only to inform me that there was nothing they could do. I had a viral infection I just had to live with until it decided to stop pestering me. :(

I woke up Friday morning and I could barely breathe. I was planning on canceling the visit at the clinic but decided against it as I was struggling for air. I went to the appointment and the first thing the doctor asked me was if I was asthmatic. I'm not and he immediately started checking me. Realizing that what ever I had was viral he decided to give me a steroid shot to keep my airway from closing and this Epineph shot (some sort of caffeine shot that would speed up my heart and make me jittery but help me breathe). He also gave me these tiny HydrOXYzine pills to help open my air way. FUN!!!!

Because I was having a hard time breathing my parents took me home and well here I am. Steroids, clean mountain air, gatorade, soup.... But most importantly I can breathe! You never really notice how nice a deep breath of air is until you can't take one.
